John Hayden A.G.R.A
(Associate Member of the Guild of Railway Artists)
I am a self taught, contemporary artist. I work in watercolour, acrylics and oil. My career as an artist took off when I retired and I have enjoyed many exhibitions both locally and further afield.
Since I was a child I have been passionate about painting transportation, particularly Steam Locomotives, Aircrafts and Cars. I have developed these over the years and I am now an associate member of the prestigious Guild of Railway Artists. As a result, some of my work has recently been exhibited by the Guild at the National Railway Museum, at Shildon, County Durham, and also at the Bluebell Railway, Sussex.
I have travelled a lot in my time and always bring a sketch pad with me, drawing landscapes wherever I go. I am based in Dorset in the South Coast of England. I’m very fortunate to have such beautiful scenery surrounding me and have painted almost every beauty spot, coastline to countryside.
Over the years I have painted a wide variety of subject matter. I have a large portfolio of work, with only a taster on this website. If you are after something specific, please do send me an Email with your query and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
I enjoy doing commissions and I am always interested in hearing your ideas. As well as original paintings, I also sell, prints (limited and open edition) and greetings card.
